Compliance Details

The Compliance Details page shows the full calculation breakdown for a single product, including general entitlement information, the License and Maintenance overview, usage chart, and financial impact. Open it by clicking a product row in the Compliance overview.

Access

Open the page from License Management, go to Compliance, and click a product row in the Compliance overview.

Editing compliance data

Click Edit in the page header to open the compliance edit dialog for the displayed product. The edit dialog lets you adjust the compliance record values, including manual override of demand and entitlement quantities. This action is the same as selecting Edit from the context menu of the product row in the Compliance overview list.

Compliance status badge

The page header displays a color-coded status badge next to the product name. The badge indicates the current compliance status at a glance:

•Compliant: Teal badge. Available quantity covers calculated demand. A surplus up to the compliance threshold is still Compliant.

•Over-licensed: Blue badge. Available quantity exceeds calculated demand by more than the compliance threshold.

•Under-licensed: Red badge. Calculated demand exceeds available quantity, or required maintenance is not covered. Immediate action is required.

General information

The top section of the page shows general information about the selected product:

•Model: The license model used for the entitlement, for example Perpetual, Maintenance when the entitlement has both a perpetual and a maintenance component.

•Metric: The license metric used for compliance processing, for example Core-based or Device-based.

License overview

Note:
There is no separate Allocated row on this page. Maintenance balance is shown here, not in the Compliance overview grid.

Usage

The Usage section displays the usage chart for the selected product, showing how calculated demand is distributed across the product's installations. This section is not affected by maintenance calculation.

Financial impact

The Financial impact section shows cards summarizing the financial exposure or surplus for the selected product.

•Balance card: Shows the regular license Balance and its financial valuation.

•Maintenance Balance card: Only displayed when the Maintenance balance is negative (maintenance under-licensed). A negative Maintenance balance indicates that the available maintenance quantity is insufficient to cover the calculated Maintenance demand. This can occur when virtual device demand forces more maintenance than is available. The Maintenance Balance card is not shown for products with a non-negative Maintenance balance.

Note:
A product can show a positive regular license Balance while the Maintenance Balance card is visible (maintenance under-licensed), or the reverse. Both positions are evaluated independently.

The Related links section provides navigation to associated records. The following links are available, depending on the data present for the selected product:

Compliance by allocation

The Compliance by allocation page shows the compliance values of the selected product per resource group. The Allocation overview summarizes the allocation, including Potential savings, Not allocated and Not targeted demand. The grid below lists each resource group with its Entitled, Downgrade, Upgrade, Demand, Balance value and Status. The Balance and Usage columns are hidden by default and can be shown with the column chooser.

The maintenance columns Maintenance balance, Maintenance entitled, Maintenance downgrade and Maintenance upgrade are hidden by default and can be shown with the column chooser. The calculation is described in License compliance calculation. Only resource groups that you can access by permissions are listed.
