Runners

On the Raynet One platform, runners are mandatory instruments to discover and inventory your IT assets and landscape. They serve to find new devices in the managed environment (discovery run) and to explore data content and structures within selected devices (inventory run). The Runners view displays all available runners depending on operation systems used in your environment, you can use either Windows runners (available as .MSI file) or Non-Windows runners (Docker container already included). For more information on runner installation requirements, also see chapter OS prerequisites and requirements.

In the Runners view, you can perform the following actions:

selecting and deselecting existing runners,

adding and authorizing new runners and removing or unauthorizing redundant ones,

assigning runners to different Sites,

exploring runner properties, instruments and services in the Details view,

downloading Linux and Windows runners.

Note:
For users of other Raynet products, runners in Raynet One substitute what they have known as agents on a device level. Runners, however, perform on a global level across the entire platform. Furthermore, for on-premise applications, it will also be possible to add device-based agents.
