Through previous discovery runs, you have created a framework in which you can create and manage your inventory of IT assets. Inventory here implies scanning all collected and accessible data in this given framework.

 

During and after inventory runs, the data assembled on the way is normalized, enriched (also non-technical information not automatically included in files or scripts) and displayed in a standardized format as list views or dashboards. Basically, you can create inventories of all IT assets in your managed environment and the inventory function is available in many views.
