Uninstalling the Raynet One agent removes the agent software and all of its data from the device, including the enrollment data and any inventory results that have not yet been uploaded to the platform. The trust between the device and the server is also removed.
|
Warning: |
Before uninstalling the agent, consider whether a factory reset achieves the same goal:
Action |
Agent software remains installed |
What to do next |
|---|---|---|
factory_reset |
Yes — only the internal databases are deleted. |
Place a new enrollment file and run the bootstrap_enrollment command to re-enroll. |
Uninstall |
No — all files, data, and the service are removed. |
Reinstall the agent package, then place a new enrollment file and re-enroll. |
Use factory reset when you want to re-enroll the same device without removing the agent software. Use uninstallation when you want to completely remove the agent from the device.
Manual uninstallation: Open Settings > Apps (or Control Panel > Programs and Features), find the Raynet One Agent entry, and select Uninstall.
Silent uninstallation via msiexec: To uninstall silently using the original .msi installer, run the following command from an elevated command prompt:
msiexec.exe /x RaynetOneAgent.msi /qn
Deployment tool uninstallation: Use the same deployment tool (GPO, MECM/SCCM, Intune) that was used to install the agent, and configure it to remove the package from the target device collection. The deployment tool uses the standard MSI uninstall mechanism.
RPM-based distributions (RHEL, Fedora, SUSE): Run the following command as root:
rpm -e raynet-one-agent
Debian-based distributions (Debian, Ubuntu): Run the following command as root:
dpkg -r raynet-one-agent
To use your software deployment tool, configure it to remove the agent package from the target devices using the appropriate package manager command for the Linux distribution.
Manual uninstallation: Run the following command as root or with sudo:
installer -pkg RaynetOneAgent.pkg -target /
For MDM-managed devices, use your MDM solution to remove the agent managed application from the target devices. The MDM solution handles the removal process using the standard macOS package removal mechanism.
