Managing blacklisted devices for organization units

The blacklist for an organization unit (OU) lets you explicitly exclude specific devices from being dynamically assigned to that OU. Even if a blacklisted device satisfies all conditions of an active rule, it will not be assigned. This mechanism is useful for handling exceptions without modifying the underlying rule logic.

The Blacklisted devices tab on the OU detail page presents a hierarchical list of excluded devices. The hierarchy reflects the OU structure, allowing you to identify blacklisted devices across parent and child organization units at a glance.

Accessing the Blacklisted devices tab

1.Navigate to Configuration in the sidebar menu.

2.Select Organization units from the left-hand menu.

3.Click the name of the organization unit you want to manage.

4.On the OU detail page, select the Blacklisted devices tab.

Alternatively, you can view all blacklisted devices across all organization units by navigating to Configuration, selecting Organization units, and then clicking the All blacklisted devices tab.

Adding a device to the blacklist

1.On the organization unit detail page, select the Devices tab, select the device you want to blacklist, and click the Add to blacklist button.

2.If necessary, enter a reason for blacklisting and confirm the action.

Removing a device from the blacklist

1.On the Blacklisted devices tab, locate the device in the hierarchical list.

2.Click the Remove button next to the device entry.

3.Confirm the removal when prompted.
