In order to further structure your user and credentials management, you can assign organization units and sites to specific user credentials. Bundling assigned sites, organization units, devices and networks helps you to capture a user's set of permissions and belongings. Let's continue building the relationships, based on the provided scenario, inside of our IT landscape resources.
The process of adding site-credentials relations is very similar. Mainly, the process differs in the visited tab. Thus we will focus on the OU-credentials type.
Relationship between the IT PB organization unit and DEV01 credentials. We want to add it in the following step-by-step guide.
1.Open the details of the DEV01 credentials as shown in a former chapter.
2.In this details view, click on Assigned OUs.
3.Under Assigned OUs, click on Add to open the Add credential assignment wizard.
4.The wizard is opened. Its initial step is called Organization unit selection. Select the IT PB list view entry and click on Next to proceed.
5.On the Basic settings wizard page, there are options to further restrict the credentials targeting. Instead of applying the credentials to all resources of an organization unit, specify a regular expression to match against resource names or IP range definition to match against resource IP addresses. Only matched resources part of the OU are considered for the credentials relationship. We don't want to specify any further restriction, based on the given scenario. Click on Next to continue.
6.Confirm the summary of our intended operation. Then, click on Next to proceed.
7.Click on Finish to close the wizard.
8.You are returned to the Credentials details view. The IT PB organization unit should be listed.
We have successfully added a relationship between credentials and organization unit. Use the gained experience to add further relationships of this kind, or to sites even.
