General toolbar elements

Apart from the header and sidebar menu, there are several recurring elements in the operation toolbar. Operation toolbars are visible for list views of every page navigable. The content of the toolbar differs, but there are some recurring buttons and tabs. Let's take a look at an example view, its content presented to you from left to right.

Add new device
This button is used to add new devices, either by direct means or by scanning technology. Depending on which view you're in, similar buttons allow you to add new devices, networks, databases and other objects.

Remove device
This button is used to delete a device along with its inventory from the database. Depending on which view you're in, similar buttons allow you to remove outdated or redundant devices, networks, databases and other objects.

Edit
This button allows you to assign custom device meta-data to devices. This button is a prime example of highly specific buttons whose availability is tied to the current view.

Inventory
Via the Inventory button, you can start an inventory run on one or more selected devices of your environment.

Note:
Every toolbar of Raynet One looks a little different. Depending on the specific workspace you are in, recurring toolbar elements may not be displayed at all or in a different location. We at Raynet want to provide you with the most capable actions on your network resources.

Action button conventions

Action buttons in toolbars and grids follow a consistent naming convention to indicate what happens when you click them.

Buttons whose label ends with an ellipsis (...) — such as Add..., Edit..., Assign..., or Deploy... — open a dialog, wizard, or picker before the action is performed. The ellipsis indicates that further input is required to complete the operation.

Buttons without an ellipsis — such as Remove, Cancel, or Save — execute immediately or open only a confirmation prompt. No additional input is required before the action proceeds.

View tabs

Detail pages in Raynet One — such as a resource group details page — display a set of view tabs in the toolbar that switch between different sections of the record. These tabs adapt automatically to the available horizontal space.

When all tabs fit in the toolbar, they are displayed as individual tab buttons. When the available width is insufficient to show all tabs at once — for example, after resizing the browser window or when a page has many tabs with long labels — the tabs collapse into a More dropdown menu. Click the More button to open the dropdown and select the desired section.

The collapse behavior is based on actual content overflow, not on a fixed screen width threshold. This means the tabs remain visible as individual buttons as long as they fit in the available space, regardless of the screen size or resolution.
