Hardware enrichment configuration

Hardware enrichment is the process by which Raynet One matches discovered hardware entities — such as CPUs, video controllers, and enclosures — against the Raynet hardware catalog. Catalog matching normalizes raw inventory data, deduplicates records, and makes hardware data consistent and queryable.

Hardware enrichment runs as a background scheduler task and is configured in the platform's server-side settings.

Scheduler tasks

Two scheduler tasks control hardware enrichment:

•Hardware Fingerprint Recognition Task: Matches newly discovered hardware against the catalog. This task runs frequently to ensure that newly inventoried hardware is recognized promptly.

•Hardware Fingerprint Update Task: Refreshes the catalog data for existing hardware records, incorporating updated catalog information such as end-of-life dates and product corrections. This task runs once daily and also on server startup.

The scheduler configuration is managed in the platform server settings. Contact your system administrator to adjust task timing or enable and disable individual tasks.

Note:
The current release introduces hardware enrichment at the backend and database layer. A dedicated user interface for reviewing hardware enrichment results will be available in a future release.
