Connections link Raynet One to external services and intelligence providers. Setting them up gives you the full range of data information during inventory and discovery jobs, and enables features such as the AI Chat and document analysis in License Management.
In the following step-by-step guide, you set up the Technology Catalog connection. The other connection types are set up the same way; their specific settings are described in Connection Details.
Requirements:
•API key for authentication against the Technology Catalog service
•URL to the service provider (default: https://rayventorycatalog.raynet.de)
•The connection is not yet set up.
1.Go to the Configuration workspace and click Connections in the sidebar menu.
2.Open the Technology Catalog tab. A card shows the connection with its name, description and the state Not configured.
3.Click Set up... on the card. The setup wizard opens.
4.Keep the Activated check box selected if you want to activate the connection right after registration, and click Next.
5.In the Basic settings step, enter the service URL and API key from the requirements. Under Advanced settings, select Edit default settings (you can skip this in future setups) and click Next.
6.Define the relevant parameters under Advanced settings and click Next.
The Timeout parameter specifies the time in milliseconds a request to the service is allowed to take. If the specified time has elapsed and the request has not been fulfilled, the request attempt is marked as failed.
The Maximum attempts parameter specifies the number of attempts made to fulfill one particular request. If the attempt count has reached the value, the request is marked as unfulfillable. In that case, the data set related to the request is not amended by related information.
There are multiple update interval parameters. Each one defines the amount of time in days between the described operation.
The Upload fingerprints parameter signifies the contributory aspect of the data source. See Technology Catalog Connection for a detailed explanation.
1.In the Summary step, check the configuration against your expectation. If it looks fine, confirm with Next. Otherwise, click Back to revise previous steps.
2.The Progress step is shown. In the background, the platform server connects to the Technology Catalog. This may take a few seconds. You are taken to the next step on completion.
3.After the connection has been established, the Finished step is shown. Click Finish to close the wizard.
By following this guide, you have successfully set up the Technology Catalog connection. Its card on the Technology Catalog tab now shows the state Active and the configured settings. The API key is masked; click the settings table to reveal it for a few seconds.
To inspect or change the settings later, see Inspect and edit a connection.
