Containers

A containers is a well-defined capsule with an operating system image deployed. Many container images exist with various operating systems and pre-installed applications. The container concept has become quite popular due to the predictable deployment process and the good technology powering it. In essence, containers are very similar to virtual machines run on hyper-visors.

A commonly used container run-time and management solution is called Docker.
