The decision if it is more reasonable if RayVentory Catalog should be used as a service or if it is sensible to install RayVentory Catalog as an on-premise installation depends on the specific use case.
Using RayVentory Catalog as a service is especially recommended for small and medium sized companies as it will not be necessary to setup and sustain the infrastructure of a RayVentory Catalog server. All that is needed to use RayVentory Catalog as a service is a modern web browser and an internet connection. Before deciding to use RayVentory Catalog as a service, keep in mind that a permanent access to an internet connection is needed to use RayVentory Catalog as a service.
In cases where it is not possible to maintain a permanent internet connection or where no internet connection is possible, an on-premise installation of RayVentory Catalog is recommended. In this case, eitzher regularly synchronize the RayVentory Catalog instance with the Master Catalog managed by Raynet or tcreate and manage your own master catalog.
