The core features of PackLayering cover the following evaluation requirements:

 

•Opening and viewing *.laypkg files - layers exported from Citrix AppLayering.

•Rebuilding, consolidating and trimming *.laypkg files.

•Advanced clean-up, both interactive and automatic (powered by proven set of exclusions from RayPack).

•Support for files, registry and metadata.

 

PackLayering is an editing tool. In order to create new layers from existing sources (for example legacy apps, MSI etc.) you should use RayPack instead. Refer to chapter Typical workflows for more information how to work efficiently with PackLayering.
