Credentials are the key for all users to access assigned devices, networks, sites and OUs. Add and synchronize a good set of credentials to authorize with IT landscape resources (devices and databases). Without them being up-to-date and correct, you cannot fully discover and inventory your IT assets. Credentials are needed to access critical system resources on environment devices for IT visibility purposes.
In the Credentials view, you can perform the following actions:
•adding new credentials under the Add new credentials tab,
•inspecting available credentials in the Details view,
•discovering assigned networks, devices, sites and organization units in the Details view,
•assigning credentials to devices, networks, sites and organization units, and
•removing incorrect or redundant credentials.
Overview of all stored user credentials used on the platform. There are credentials usable on Windows and Linux devices. Oracle database credentials are added to authenticate against Oracle database products hosted on any device type, in a secondary inventory run specifically targeting database solutions.
Add credentials wizard allowing users to easily register new credentials found within their managed environment. After selecting any of the provided credentials types, the next wizard steps change accordingly. You are asked to input credentials details relate dto the network integration and platform semantics of the credentials.
Details view of individual credentials with the possibility of targeting them. Select various devices, networks, sites or organization units as credentials targets. In the event of device or database inventory, the set of targeted credentials is queried and used as the means to attempt authentication.
Single devices can be assigned to credentials for targeting. In the context of device or database inventory, these credentials are included in the credentials targeting set.
Credentials assigned to networks have the option to be applied to a subset of network devices. In the above screenshot you see a network credentials relationship with a regular expression attached. Thus, in the event of device inventory, only devices whose device name matches the regular expression are considered for credentials targeting. Use this feature for smart and dynamic credentials assignment strategies.
