In the General tab the application for the assignment is chosen. Furthermore, its installation behavior and the behavior once the assignment has been removed are configured here.
•PACKAGE: Select the package that should be used for the assignment. This field supports auto completion.
•FORCE INSTALL: This field can be used to define the installation behavior for the package. There are three different options available.
oThis application is required: If this option is chosen, the application will be configured automatically. The user can defer the installation for up to a predefined amount of time. The time frame can be configured in the Postponement tab.
oThis application is required but can be uninstalled: If this option is chosen, the installation will be installed, but the user has the option to uninstall it afterward. The user can defer the installation for up to a predefined amount of time. The time frame can be configured in the Postponement tab.
oThis application is optional: If this option is chosen, the user can choose whether to install the application from a catalog of available applications.
•OUT-OF-POLICY BEHAVIOR: This setting defines what happens with the application once the assignment for the application is removed.
oThe application should stay on the device: If this option is chosen, the application will stay on the device and its data and content will remain untouched once the application has been removed from the assignments.
oThe application should be removed from the device: If this option in chosen, the application will be automatically removed by the next policy update. Application data and content will not be removed.
