Postponing installations

Your RayManageSoft Unified Endpoint Manager administrators can configure applications with a date by which they must be installed. You can choose to install these applications before that date, or postpone their installation. If you have not installed an application by its specified date, it will automatically be installed the first time policy is applied after the specified date.

When there are applications that are available for installation, but whose mandatory installation date is still in the future, a dialog is displayed each time policy is applied. It presents the following information for each application whose installation can be postponed:

A check box to record your selection of whether to install the application now, or whether to postpone installation of the application until a later time.

The name of the application.

The time left until you can no longer postpone the installation of the application. RayManageSoft Unified Endpoint Manager will attempt to install the application when policy is applied after this time.

The size of the application. The size shown is the total download size of all files that make up the application; the actual download size required to retrieve the application for installation on your computer may be less than the size shown here if files for the application have been previously downloaded or if some application files are not required for installation on your operating system.

An estimate of the time it will take to download the application (based on the size of the application).

1.For each of the applications listed:

Make sure the application’s check box is checked if you want the application to install now

Make sure the application’s check box is not checked if you do not want the application to install now

2.Click OK.
If you do not press OK within a time period configured by your RayManageSoft Unified Endpoint Manager administrators (the default setting is five minutes), the dialog closes automatically and the current selections are used for the installation.

Applications that must be installed by some future date but that are not currently installed are listed on the Expected tab of the Selector. See Viewing the list of installed software.
