Installing software > When the software gets installed?

The RayManageSoft Unified Endpoint Manager agent installs software on your computer:

•When instructed to do so by RayManageSoft Unified Endpoint Manager administrators, either as scheduled tasks or through changes to policy.

It is likely that most software installations and updates through RayManageSoft Unified Endpoint Manager will be controlled by your RayManageSoft Unified Endpoint Manager administrators. Such installations usually do not require (or accept) any input from you. They may occur at login time, overnight, or at times when you are not using your computer. Often you will not even be aware that these tasks are in progress.

If you are using an application while RayManageSoft Unified Endpoint Manager is installing an update to it, you won't be disrupted - the installation will not complete until you have closed the application.

•When you choose to install it.

Click on Available to call a list of applications you can choose whether or not to install. See Viewing software details and Installing software.

In some cases, your RayManageSoft Unified Endpoint Manager administrators will provide a time window during which you can choose to install a mandatory application. This allows you to choose a time that is suitable for you to install the software, without interrupting your work. If you have not installed the software until the Must Install By date, it will be installed automatically when policy is next applied to your managed device.

When you choose to install either an optional or an expected application, RayManageSoft Unified Endpoint Manager agent may display the application’s installer, which allows you to make choices about where and how you install the software. In other cases, your RayManageSoft Unified Endpoint Manager administrators may have set up packages to install or update quietly (without any interaction required from you).
